"Excellence in Vision Care Through Collaboration"
"Un objectif commun: l'excellence des soins de la vue"

Protecting and Enhancing Eyesight is the Job of Opticians

The Opticians Council of Canada (OCC) is an Opticians organization with representatives from all Canadian provincial regulatory bodies, associations and teaching institutions as participating delegates. The Opticians Council of Canada is an incorporated body under the Canada Corporations Act and received final Letters Patent in July 2010. Meetings of the OCC provide a forum for discussing issues of mutual interest such as the development of common policy issues that affect the eye health of the Canadian consumer.

The organization shares a common interest in eye care and vision health. The OCC provides national leadership on Canada’s vision health issues and in the development of related public policy. OCC accomplishes its goals through the mandates of its member associations by consultation, collaboration, advocacy, research, education and service. The OCC believes that all Canadians are entitled to full and equal access to eye care.

An optician is a licensed professional trained to help you see better – whether you’re near or far-sighted, or have low vision due to more complex eye health issues.

It’s reassuring to know the profession of Opticianry in Canada is regulated and governed by strict standards to protect your vision and ensure opticians provide you care of the highest standard.
